Canon Pixma pro 200s - shadow print/double image/ghost line issue

Kira1

Hi, I’m having an issue with my Canon Pixma Pro‑200S printer and I’m hoping someone might recognise the problem. I’m printing on 350gsm A3+ heavy art paper with a narrow (around 1.25 mm border) on the sides. On every print, I’m getting a shadowed “ghost” line about 3–4 cm above the bottom edge of the sheet. The affected band is roughly 2 cm thick, and the line appears in the exact same place on every page. (See the blue linework part of the photos attached.)

So far I’ve tried:

  • Running a nozzle check

  • Re‑aligning the print head

  • Cleaning the rollers (as I read it could be potentially a feed‑handover issue between the rear and front rollers)

After all this, one print came out slightly less blurry, but the next one was even worse. I’ve printed this exact artwork before with no issues — the problem only started today. The printer is also fairly new (bought in January), so I don’t think it’s age‑related.

Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas on what might be causing it or how to fix it?

I'm sorry, your art is beautiful and so busy that I'm not able to identify the ghost line you're referencing.   Could you perhaps point a bit red arrow to the line you're referencing?   I'm sure it's obvious to you, but it's not obvious to me.  Thanks.

Thank you!

Yes, no problem, I attached three pictures, I hope it's easier to see now. The first one is how it's supposed to look like, the second has this problematic line circled, and the third is just a zoomed-in version of the previous picture.

Thanks for that.  Wow.  Really strange behavior.  I'd suggest giving Canon a call.  Hopefully someone here has had a similar thing happen, but it seems unlikely to me.
