Can’t install PIXMA PRO-100 on Mac, orange light blinks 9 times

I bought a Canon Pro 100, I plugged it, everything seem to be fine. Then when I tried to install it on my mac it really seem impossible. I downloader the last driver on the official Canon website ( for Tahoe 26.2 ). I connect a USB to USB C and plug it in my MacBook. I have the IJ software but the printer is unable to get recognized at all… There is an orange light that blink 9 times when I plug the USB. I have done some research but nothing seem to be working, installed the drivers again and again, unpluged the printer and plugged again. I don’t have any more ressource hahaha ! If someone have an idea about what i do wrong ! I’m all ears !

Thanks a lot !

Are you using the correct USB cable?  You need a special USB printer cable. The connection for USB is at the rear of the printer.

Based on the 9 flash error code it sounds like you may be plugging the cable into the front USB port.

Greetings,

A few things come to mind.  First, download and review the manual for your product.

Available here

When installing a USB device, you should install the drivers first, and not connect the device until prompted to do so by the installer.

The type of cable you use matters.   Its best to avoid adapters, dongles or hubs. They can introduce connection and communication issues.  9 flashes typically indicates a communication issue with a connected device, but in this case, I'd check the type of cable you are using and the connection sequence.

It might be a good idea to start over.  Remove the failed printer instance and software.  Disconnect the printer and  restart your Mac, then begin again.

Excellent point John.  The printer would be expecting a camera on the front port.
