imagePROGRAF TM-305 ERROR: Cannot Fill Print Head with Ink

ebghb

I have a imagePROGRAF TM-305 Canon Printer. I am persistently receiving an Error (no error code with it) that says "Cannot fill the print head with ink. Remove the ink tank and reinstall it." I've removed and reinstalled it close to 8 times, it thinks about it and gives me the same message. I've tried with a brand new ink cartridge and also shutting off the printer and turning it back on. I've cancelled the job that was going through as well. I cannot return to the home screen to run a print head cleaning. Please advise how I can get rid of this message and get the printer to accept the ink cartridge.

Greetings,

It would be best to contact Canon Support.  They may refer you to a local dealer for assistance, but start with them.

Register your printer in your MyCanon account, then give support a call 1-800-652-2666

Are you using Canon OEM cartridges or aftermarket ones? I have seen way to many times they aftermarket stuff cause issues like this. Shadowsports is correct, if it is truly Canon Branded stuff then you need to call your dealer as it is a deeper issue.

Keep in mind, if you by from Amazon it may not truly be Canon. I have seen too many false labeled items there that say from Canon but are "Canon Compatible" and fakes. Please refer to canons counterfeit identifier at:

I purchased a new Canon Ink cartridge because we were using the wrong brand and it still won't accept it. I will be calling for a service call to have it drained and inspected.

Best of luck! Just as a side note, I have seen inks ordered on Amazon which say they are from Canon but that is not the case.

Thank you! I ordered the ink directly from the company we purchased the printer from this time to ensure it was the correct type. I appreciate your help and advice!
