Canon’s support site should have Linux drivers, but they can be a pain to find. If you don’t see RHEL-specific ones, try the generic UFR II or PCL6 drivers—they usually work. Also, you might need to install `cups` and manually add the printer. Have you checked OpenPrinting.org? Sometimes they have better drivers for Canon models.

Yeah Canon didn't have any drivers for our printers, not even Windows or Mac. We do have CUPS installed and I have tried manual installs of the generic drivers (we had to use generic on our AIX hosts) but have not had any success with them. I will give OpenPrinting.org a look.
