pixma pro 100 wifi setup - printer not detected through USB

I am a first time user of pixma pro 100 ( yes!, setting it up after 3 yrs it lying in my garage).  

I am facing issues to setup its wifi ( my router doesnt have wps). 

Upon connecting it to USB , the setup software doesnt detect printer. 

THOUGH, the Canon My Printer software detects my printer. was able to adjust printer head with that and print a couple of pages.

So the problem is NOT with my USB wire or connection. I beleive its with the Setup software. Given this, how do i setup the wifi for my printer.

Advice is greatly appreciated.
