imageCLASS MF753Cdw Maximum number of devices???

i have a warning popped up on my computer and laptop which states that "the maximum number of computers that are monitoriing the device has been exceeded" "polling to the device will be stopped" "to restart polling, set in the [Configuration] menu again after a moment"  I have a Canon Imageclass 753cdw, but i i only have about 6 or 7 computers/laptops and mobile devices which are expecting to be able to print to this.  1) how do i determine the number of devices connected to this and 2) if i have devices which are not mine (I live in a retirement community and it is possible that somewhere close to us can see it, though i have my own private router) how do i protect it?  3) would powering down the printer and bringing it back online resolve this?  I can uninstall the canon app from my 2 mobile devices, but even with these, i should only have 6 or 7 devices capable of accessing it, and from what i read, one does not exceed the maximum until you hit 10.  Or maybe i just don't understand what this error message is trying to tell me.   My system includes a Dell desktop computer, running Windows 11, a Lenovo laptop running windows 11, an iPad, current OS, an android phone current  OS and an older Samsung tablet.  My wifi router is an xfinity rounter.

Greetings,

If you have your own ISP and router, the fact that you live in a retirement community is not a factor.  This message displays when you have more that 10 devices connecting to the printer.  You can uncheck the checkbox in the Scanner Selector which reduces the number of monitored devices.  However, in your case, you should not be seeing this error with less that 10 devices, if your network is truly isolated as you describe.

You appear to have a correct understanding of the function.  Let's gather some additional information.  Who is the ISP? (internet provider)  What is the brand and model of your router?  Are you sharing your Wi-Fi with anyone?

What operating systems (version and build) are you using with the printer?  Windows, Mac, Android, iOS?  etc.

First step is power cycling your network equipment.  Start with the modem if you have one, wait a few minutes, then cycle the router.  Another thing you might want to consider is assigning a static IP to the printer on your router.  I can advise more when you reply.

I can see in the scanner utility that the box you

sorry, it got away from me, but the box you referred to was already unchecked.  is there a way to see what devices it thinks it is monitoring or being monitored by?

Also, i did not answer all your questions.  First of all, my ISP is Xfinity (comcast).  Also, the devices that i had installed the app on are 1) Windows 11 2) iOS iPad 3) Android mobile phone OS 14 and 4) Android tablet OS 12.  Router is Comcast (Model:CGM4981COM

Vendor:Technicolor
Hardware Revision:2.0)
Printer is relatively new (maybe two weeks) and I can certainly configure a static IP but since the printer has stayed on the entire time, the IP address has not changed.
Also, is the issue that the printer is monitoring devices on the network, or are the devices on the network monitoring the printer?    If the former, i probably have a dozen or so devices on my network, including TV's, sound bars, smart switches, etc.  if the printer thinks it is monitoring all devices on my network, then the number will indeed over 10, but most of these devices will never functionally interact with the printer.
