Bought for my daughter in college and IT dept there is suggesting the printed does not support 802..1x wireless. I thought it did.. Can someone clarify?

No, RADIUS based auth is not suported on this model.
I believe this is only supported on ImageRunner Printers.
Also, this is not a common requirement for consumer printers. Its ridiculous for them to expect this from a college students personal printer.
Wireless direct or USB might be the only options in this case.
