Windows 11 printer driver for PIXMA iP2820

I bought a new laptop with windows 11 and need to connect my printer to it.  Will my canon pixma ip2820 work with windows 11.  If so how do I get the printer driver as I checked on canon website and it said that this printer is retired. My printer worked on my old laptop and would l like to keep it instead of buying a new printer. Trying to keep from going to landfill.  I have the printer install disk but my laptop doesn't accept CD's.  I tried tech support but can[t get through.  I have the proof of purchaser info and am sure I registered it before but it has been a while and everything upgrades each year.  Any help would be appreciated as I have been researching and not getting any where,

Well, Intel means not an ARM, right?

So you are in luck. Canon shows a Windows 11 driver for you:

Pick Windows 11 (Windows 10 uses the same driver) and scroll down to P2800 series Printer Driver Ver. 2.75

You will also see the other things that came on the original CD.

First, does the new laptop have an Intel/AMD processor, or an ARM processor?

If it's an ARM, everything else is moot. Canon has not created ARM-compatible drivers yet, for the most part, and certainly not for a retired printer.

You will be limited to whatever functionality Windows 11's built-in drivers offer.

This is now a common problem: many new Windows 11 computer purchasers are not aware oit unless they are computer-savvy types. Many new computers are made with ARMs and a Windows 11 ARM version. which is different from Windows for Intel/AMD processors.

I am not sure what I have it says intel (r) core TM5120u. Will that work?

Thanks so much you are a life saver.

Finally this worked,  I have been trying over and over to print as I am not computer savvy. I really want to thank you so much for responding right away and you are a life saver.  I am happy not to have to purchase another printer when this works.  Thanks again

😊
