Windows 11 driver for imageCLASS MF4890dw doesn't work

I have an Imageclass mf4890dw printer.  Although it works just fine, I found out that Canon no longer supports it.  I just bought a new PC with Windows 11.  I downloaded the drivers recommended on Canon's website, but when I go to print I get the message "Driver is unavailable."  Is it possible I have to junk this perfectly functional printer?  The website says that these are the drivers for Windows 11.  HELP!!

Ugh, same here! I installed the Windows 11 driver for the imageCLASS MF4890dw, and it just refuses to work properly. Tried everything—reinstalling, compatibility mode, even older drivers—but no luck so far. Really hoping Canon drops a proper update soon. Anyone else find a workaround that actually sticks? It’s like prepping your favorite food and burning it right at the end.

Thank you !  This worked for me!

Link takes me back to the Canon driver page, but the only drivers are for the scanner, not the printer.

Windows 11 drivers for Intel and AMD based systems remain available at the link I posted previously.  If you have purchased a new W11 PC based on Snapdragon or ARM processor, the intel/AMD drivers are not compatible.

When I download and install the driver, it only lists the scanner. Is there something else that needs to be done to identify the printer. HP Intel system connected to printer by USB. Prior PC showed separate drivers for fax and UFRIL. Original Canon instructions were to download and install the driver before connecting the usb cable. That is what I did here, but Windows doesn't "see" the printer. Previous PC set to port usb 001.

Thanks for the prompt  response.

I got the following when I installed the driver:

It kept getting stuck when it tried to find the printer. In the end when I did a search by the IP address of the printer it found it and completed the installation.
I found the IP address in the printer properties on the old computer, but I assume they should be on the router too.
