Why network cannot find printer?

Trying to set up a Canon Pixma MG3500 and the setup software cannot detect the printer on the network. Any ideas what to try?

Is the wifi light flashing blue?

It's on and blue, but not flashing, no.

Try holding down the wifi button until you see the orange light to the left flash twice, and then let go. The wifi indicator should be flashing blue after this. Attempt the installation while this LED is flashing.
