A few days ago my printer stopped printing. I restarted my computer and restarted the printer. That seemed to correct the issue. Today I printed a picture using the back feed for the paper and had no problems. Later I tried printing from the computer and nothing. It would show that it was spooling. I tried shutting off my PC and restarting it along with shutting off the printer and restarting it. No printing. I disconnected the power from the PC & printer, no printing. I found instructions on line of how to reset the print spooler. This didn't work as when I went to services.msc and right clicked on "Print Spooler" to select "Stop", the "Stop" was dulled out and was unable to click on it. I can't seem to find anything else to try. My printer is connected to my PC via ethernet cable. I did change on the printer settings on the LAN to enable the wired LAN, still wouldn't print. I don't know what else to try. If someone could help me, I would greatly apricate it. If giving me instructions, PLEASE give them in detail as I am not too computer savvy.
Thank you in advance for any help

Greetings and welcome to the community.
I see you're using Windows and have your printer connected to your network via ethernet.
The user account you're logged in as must have administrator privileges in order to stop and start the print spooler service.
One quick question. is this a personal computer or one issued by your employer? Are you utilizing VPN?.
I'll provide next steps once you've replied 🙂

Greetings,
You can clear the print spooler service by stopping and restarting it.
Open services.msc, navigate (scroll) down to P's Print Spooler Service, right click on the line item, select stop. Then right- click again and select start
However, this is not the likely cause of your printing issue.
Please log into your router and review the list of Attached Devices. You should see an entry for your printer and one for your computer.
Optional but recommended, assign the printer a static IP address. This only needs to be done once. Note the IP address that you've assigned and restart the printer by power cycling it.
Now open a web browser or command prompt and ensure you can view the printers webserver (browser) or ping (command prompt) the printer at the IP you've assigned.
Once confirmed (successful), you can proceed.
PC:
Open settings, Bluetooth and Printers and remove the printer from your system.
Next open settings, control panel, Programs and Features and uninstall any Canon software.
Importamt, restart your system
Now download the following from the TR 8620a's support portal.
https://pdisp01.c-wss.com/gdl/WWUFORedirectTarget.do?id=MDEwMDAxMDg0NzA1&cmp=ABR&lang=EN
Run the installer. This package includes print and scan.
Here is a link to the printers support portal in case you want to install any of the printers optional software.

If you have any questions about the above let us know. Please post your progress.

I think my printer is possessed, LOL. I was able to go into the services.msc and clicked stop , then clicked start. It did nothing. I did discover that if I print all pages, they will all print. If I only want one page, like page 2, I select the page and click print. It won't print, but when I log out of the computer, the page will print. Then I just log back into the computer. Other times if I want only one page, like page 3 or 4, it will print with no problems. I have no idea what is happening. I guess as long as I know how to print, that is all that matters. It is just a pain in the butt if I want one certain page printed and have to log out of the computer to get it printed. Thank you for your help.
Take care,
Vicky
