ScanGear MF Requires Exiting to See/Save Final Scan

MF753CdwUser

I just bought a Canon MF753Cdw color laser printer and have Windows 11.  I've tried all variations of settings I can think of, but the only way to get a scan to show up in my target folder and/or open it, is to exit ScanGear MF.  Is that correct?  That seems crazy!  Is there not a way to just press "Scan" and have the scan saved to your target folder and the ScanGear software remain open so you can scan again (or even just have it open in the background), as is the case with all other scanner software I've ever used and overall common sense?

Thanks!

Greetings,

ScanGear includes a Preview feature.  You can perform the preview scan as many times as you like before performing the final scan and save.

Change to the advanced dialog to see all of the available features, including preview.  😉

Thanks for your reply.  I'm working in the "Advanced Mode" tab, but the only way to "finalize" the scan and have it appear in the target folder and be usable (instead of as an unusable .TMP file in the folder under "Preferences... > Scanner Tab > folder location in top area") is to close ScanGear and then confirm the close with "Exit" in the dialog box popup.  In other words, after pressing "Scan", I only have 2 options:  press "Scan" again to add more pages to the previous scan or exit the software to be able to open the previous scan.  It's as if it's in a hardwired loop to keep adding additional pages (unless you exit) instead of allowing you to create a single page scan and open that scan, while keeping ScanGear MF open.

I'm encountering this issue and I feel like I _MUST_ be missing something because there is no way any competent sane person would design a software loop like this.
I have to close and open the ScanGear window every single time I want to actually have a scanned image saved?  What am I missing here, this is beyond bad ui design.

For the MF Scan Utility, you can Preview the scanned page(s) by selecting "Check Scan Results" in the Settings dialog.  The settings button is at the top left of the Utility (States Check First)

If you select "Check Scan Results"

You get a Preview of what you scanned.  You can then make a decision to Save, Rescan or Abort

The default behavior is save to a subfolder with current date (this is what I use)

You can scan one or multiple pages by selecting Scan or Exit.

If you use ScanGear

Here is Preview in Basic Mode (Press blue Preview button)

Here is Preview In Advanced Mode (Press blue Preview button)

All you have to do is press Preview on either screen to get a preview of the page you can then scan.  To be clear, you don't have to close anything.  😉
