I've had a Prograf PRO 1100 since March and it's been working great. Today, however I'm getting an error with I try to send a photo (wired connection) from Professional Print and Layout indicating that I need to "Please check the printer's operation panel or the Remote UI". There is not information on the panel indicating an issue and I don't think the Remote UI is an issue since the printer is hardwired to the computer. I've installed the latest driver and reinstalled PPL and it still won't communicate. Any ideas? Thanks!

Did you reboot your computer? That should be your first step. What computer are you using? You should also make sure your OS is up to date with updates. If not, update it and then reboot. Although you got your printer in March did you ensure your printer firmware is up to date with the firmware from March? I believe you likely have the latest PPL version as it was issued in February. Firmware and software, along with instructions are located at at https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/imageprograf-pro-1100 .
Also, if you are on a windows system and you DO have a corrupted PPL file, the system uninstall does not do a clean uninstall. If you need those instructions we can provide them.

In case you update Windows OS and that doesn't work you'll need to ensure you can see and manage the printer from the UI. You didn't mention whether you tried the UI or not. It is unwise to assume that the UI works. If all of that doesn't resolve the problem, then you'll want to do a clean install of PPL as that is likely your issue. Here are the instructions for Windows:
Then you can try a fresh installation. It needs to be on your locally mounted drive or SSD and not network attached storage.
Be sure you have version 1.6.1 from the Canon site for your printer from the printer support site mentioned previously.
Download. Install. Reboot. Launch by searching for "Professional Print and Layout" in the Search Bar.
Once you have PPL running you can see if it sees and recognizes your printer. If not you will then want to clean off the printer SW using process as above and then download and install "Master Setup" from your printer site above.

Thanks for your help. I did a hard reboot of both the printer and the computer, and I still get the same message. I had downloaded the firmware update previously as well. I "re-found" the printer, and it still does not work. Time for Master Setup?

I would would ensure all of the files are gone per the instructions and start with a clean Master Setup, yes.
Again, also ensure your printer has the latest (March) version of the firmware installed.
