PIXMA iP7220 My Wi-Fi router isn't on the list

When I try to connect my printer to wifi, my router isn't on the list.  I have a router that ends with 52 and 52-5G.  I assumed that the 52 on the list would work because both are the same router, but Canon told me I had the wrong password.  I know the password is correct.

While our Forum Community members are welcome to chime in, the Canon PIXMA iP7220 has been retired. That means we do not offer support for the printer or updated drivers. We recommend updating to a more modern printer and reaching out to our Canon Upgrade Program specialist who will go over the best options for upgrading your printer. They can be reached at 866-443-8002.

I know that iP7220 is retired, but I couldn't understand why the network tool would not recognize my router.  For now, I will just use the printer with a USB cable.  If I upgrade to a new printer, I would have to throw away a lot of ink.  Thank you for your response.

I may not upgrade to a Canon printer.  Consumer Reports shows poor customer satisfaction with Canon printers.
