PIXMA TR8520 driver download page missing MP driver

Windows reports driver missing or invalid. 

Deleted and uninstalled; disconnected USB, power cycled printer and laptop.

Reconnected TR8520 via USB to laptop - windows automatically re-installed, it shows up in printers, but quickly returns to driver missing or invalid. Was working fine until some sort of automatic update.

I downloaded multiple Windows 11 drivers from ( https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-tr8520 ) but each one I try to install says I'm missing the "MP DRIVER" and it wont work.
Other forum comments say to go to downloads page and download the MP Driver - however there is NO "MP DRIVER" listed at this time.

Please share source to download either the MP driver or the stanard Printer/Scanner software for Windows 11, including latest driver.

The step you may be missing is connecting the device before running the set up utility.  The moment you connect a USB device to Windows, it will attempt to install whatever it thinks is best.  

Perform the same steps, removing the device instance first, disconnecting the USB cable and restarting your system.  Now run the setup utility and do not connect the printer until prompted to do so by the installer.

The driver is there, use the "load more" button. 

The standard driver supports 8-bit color depth the XPS driver supports 16-bit color depth.  Install both.

I would just like to confirm before attempting.

1. disconnect/uninstall/reboot. 

2. download and install: Print Driver and Scan Utility Installer Ver.1.02

3. plug usb into laptop only when prompted. 

4. (optional) download/install TR8500 series XPS Printer Driver Ver.6.10c (Windows). 

These steps match your instruction?
