PIXMA TR4720 does not connect to internet, unable to recognize printer Wi-Fi on network

Hello - We recently switched WIFI services from Spectrum to AT&T. Previously everything was working fine and printed from all devices. I am unable to get the printer to recognize the new WIFI. When I press the "Smart" link button, Printer says to "Follow the instructions on  PC, devices etc". I am unable to find anything anywhere that pertains to WIFI set up on PC or Cannon app. Please help.

Thank you

Greetings,

The printer requires a 2.4 Ghz broadcast that supports WPA2 encryption.  Please ensure your network meets these requirements.

Router:

It's LAN IP should be 192.168.1.254

Log into the router using the access code on the sticker located on the side or bottom of your device.  Then review the wireless settings.

The AT&T modem BGW320-505 is 2.4GHz and supports WPA2. With this device, a router is no longer required. I am unable to locate anything on the PC set up or Canon app that allows for WIF printer set up.

Greetings ,

Yes, the printer supports wireless which requires a router/network or wireless direct which allows you to connect directly to the printer.

To use wireless direct, you can use the instructions in this article.

Print and Scan with Wireless Direct - TR4720 https://share.google/pAGykMF8zawOnQjvK

You can download the Canon Print app from the Microsoft store.

Canon PRINT - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store https://share.google/LbydWqbMgwyW18TgY

You need to put the printer into wireless direct mode so that it is broadcasting an SSID. Then you can connect the computer to it to print.  Note, you can connect a mobile device or computer (one device at a time) to the printer.

Using a wireless network and router is more flexible because it allows any device connecting to the same network to use the printer.
