PIXMA TR4500 Series: Not scanning, printer and app don't see each other

I have had this printer for a few years and it has been connected to the same network for while.  For some reason I can not scan to the computer.  When I try to set the scanner destination it only gives me "Local USB" and search.  When I search no results come up.  

1. The computer and the printer are on the same network. 

2.I tried from the app but the app keeps telling me the printer is offline.  And from the printer, I get "PC not connected".

3. The system says all the up-to-date drivers are installed and that there are no hardware issues

I am not sure what I am missing.

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using within the PIXMA TR4500 series.  The model number should appear on the front of the unit at the upper right.  That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!
