Can't Download utility software

I just bought an Azuz Zenbook with Snapdragon.  When I try to install the Cannon Utilities drivers that enables me to use my laptop for directing my scanning operations o my printer I get a message that the program is not supported by this computer. How can this be? What do I need to do?

Greetings,

Your Asus Zenbook Is ARM based and may not be compatible with software applications intended for Intel or AMD based systems.  Microsoft started putting ARM-based processors in their surface laptops and Asus, Lenovo, HP and others have started to follow suit.  The problem however, is there is still a lot of software applications and hardware out there that is only compatible / written for Intel or AMD based systems.  Canon has not released ARM-based drivers for its consumer printers yet.  I believe they are coming but there is no ETA yet.

I would take a quick look at all of the software applications and hardware you plan on using your computer with as you may find, other hardware and software has compatibility issues as well.  Sticking with an Intel based system is your safest bet.

Windows 11 does have native printer support, but these are not full feature drivers.

What printer model do you own?

I have read that Windows has an application called Prism that emulates x86. Supposed to be similar to Apple Rosetta which allowed older software to run on Apple Silicon Macs. No personal experience with the Windows app.
