PIXMA MX430 all in one printer: laptop is unable to see printer

Like many others, I just purchased a new laptop with windows 11 installed.  I downloaded the updated driver but my laptop cannot see my printer.  I am using a usb connection and have followed the troubleshooting instructions several times to no avail.  Can someone please help?
