PIXMA MP460 PC says driver not installed

Hello.

"Suddenly" my MP Navigator 3.0 does not want to work with my 2006 era MP460.   I am getting error message  'The scanner driver supported by this software is not installed when I try to start the Navigator'.   My printer works fine.

I dont think I did anything to cause this.  I see others are having a similar problem.  I tried reloading the drivers and MP Nav from the CD that I have.    The problem persists.

I do have McAfee real time scanning and it's advanced firewall turned on.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Looks like the latest version of that software is 3.03 and it only exists up through W8.1.

Did you recently update your OS or get a new computer?

No, this PC is about 9 years old and has been running win 10 since they allowed people to upgrade from win 8 (2016??).      But it auto updates Windows every few weeks and that's what I suspect clobbered my version.    I found a MP nav version 4.0 online, downloaded, but it didn't work either.   One thing I didn't try is uninstalling the printer, and installing it again hoping that Windows figures it out.  I was hesitant to do that as I'm afraid of something else going wrong and loosing ability to print....
