I have a Pixma MG7520 printer which will print all internally generated test patterns without a problem, but when I send a text (or any type of) file from any of my computers it barely prints any of the file content. It almost seems like a print buffer problem where the data is not getting through.
Any ideas or suggestions on how to troubleshoot and/or fix?
Thanks.

Hi snooks10,
Please load plain paper into your printer and then print a test page from your PIXMA MG7520 following these steps:
1. Please swipe the HOME screen and then tap the wrench and screwdriver icon on the display of your PIXMA MG7520.
2. Tap Maintenance.
3. Tap Print nozzle check pattern.
4. Tap Yes.
Please take a picture of the page that prints and then please attach that image to your reply of this post.

Hi Patrick,
Thank you for your reply.
I finally got a few minutes to do what you asked and a couple of other things that might help.
I have attached a photo of the print nozzle check pattern as suggest, but I went a little further and scanned that image into my desktop and then printed it successfully. (In the picture the original is on the top and the scanned/printed copy is on the bottom.)
I then tried to print a page from a web browser (MS Edge), and that also printed ok. (2nd photo)
I then tried to print a MS Word (.docx) and all that came out was a blank page. I converted that file to a .pdf file printed it and that also came out blank. Same thing happened when I copied/pasted the text of the Word doc into Notepad.
I then tried to copy a text document I had laying around and that also came out blank.
Knowing that the CLI-251 BK XL cartridge was running low, I replaced it to see if it was really empty and just not being read correctly, but the new cartridge did not change the printing behavior.
Thanks again for your attention to this.

Hi snooks10,
When performing the type of printing that you are, the PGBK ink tank will print black.
PGBK does not appear on the nozzle check that you provided, which would be the cause of this issue.
To resolve this issue, please follow all of the steps provided on this page from the manual:
MG7500 series > Overview of the Printer > Maintenance > Maintenance Procedure
If black still does not print after performing the steps provided on that page, your PIXMA MG7520 would require service. If your PIXMA MG7520 was purchased less than a year ago, please contact one of Canon's Technical Support Representatives via phone or chat to obtain your in warranty options. To contact a Technical Support Representative, please use the link below to log into your My Canon account:

Once logged in, click on your PIXMA MG7520 and then click on the Product Support button. When that page loads, click on either the Phone Support button or the Chat Support button to access support.
If your PIXMA MG7520 is out of warranty, you are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system.
