I just purchased and installed a new Canon PIXMA MG7120 multifunction printer. I need to be able to connect it to two separate Windows computers in my home. One of the systems is a Windows 7 laptop with wireless capability. The other is a desktop WinXP system that supports both USB and Ethernet, but not wifi. Is it possible to My environment includes a Netgear N900 wireless router/hub. Is it possible for me to define the printer as a wireless device on the laptop and also define the same printer as either a USB or Ethernet device on the other system? The printer will never be used concurrently on these two systems, but I would like to avoid having to change the printer's connection settings every time there is a need to print from one system or the other.
PS- The netgear router has USB ports which allow a USB-only printer to be treated like a wireless printer. I used this as a method to satisfy my need when I was using my Canon MP600 printer (USB-only). The drawback to that ability is that I had to execute a program to connect the printer to the appropriate system each time I wanted to print from either system. I'd like to eliminate that step.

The wireless connection would refer to the connection between the router and the printer. Once the printer is on the network, you should be able to connect to the printer from the XP computer. Just as long as it is connected to the router (Ethernet or WiFi won't make a difference).
To answer you question more in depth, the printer is capable of USB and wireless simutaneously. However, the printer cannot be connected Wired AND Wireless to the router at the same time. Only one of the two can be active at once. Keep in mind this does not apply to how the PC is connected- solely on how the printer is connected.
