PIXMA MG2922 Can't find network

Hi! This is my 1st post. I have a PIXMA MG2922 and I recently changed internet providers. I'm now using 5g network. My printer will not connect to the new WiFi. I called provider and they walked me through setting up a separate network 2.4 for printer however it still will not connect to the WiFi. Any help would be appreciated. I'm not super tech savvy but I can learn! Thank you all! Oh I've tried using my pc with Windows 10 and Androids as well.

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The PIXMA MG2922 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!

Greetings desda,

Your MG2522 supports 2.4Ghz wireless and WPA2 encryption.  If your wireless networks, 2.4/5G are using the same name, try giving the 2.4Ghz network a unique name, or temporarily disable the 5G broadcast while you are installing the printer.

Did you see any error messages?  Please provide more information.  The steps you performed, the driver you used, what the printer is connected to and how, etc.  Do you know if the cable you are using for set up is good/working?  Please provide as much information as possible and we can try to help.

I had the same problem and finally found a solution.  In the printer user manual it says WPA/WPA2 encryption method on your router is not supported by this printer.  You'll have to go into your router as administrator and change the WPA version to just WPA2 if yours is set to WPA/WPA2 or WPA2/WPA3.  Afterwards go back and do the WAN setup on the printer again, find the router name, click OK, in the next step only one option is highlighted, it shows some address or something, click it and it will then ask for the password!  Enter it and you are good to go!

Thanks to all for the advice. I had already tried what you suggested. I bought a hp printer to replace the cannon and it works great! Thanks again!
