MX870 won't connect to new router

Got a new router. During LAN Setup the printer allows me to select the new SSID but then automatically tries to connect and fails. No screen ever appears asking for a new passkey. I've reset to Factory settings. Unplugged. etc etc. Any ideas on how to get it to allow me to enter a new password? Thanks.

I'm not a tech, but I found a Network Troubleshooting guide on the MX870's web page. 

FYI, this unit was retired in 2016, so there is no official support from Canon USA, so I hope this information is helpful!
