MF656Cdw Wireless Connection Suddenly Stopped Working

I’ve been using my Canon imageCLASS MF656Cdw since 2024 and haven’t had any issues with it until now. Suddenly, the printer stopped connecting to my wireless network.

I searched through previous community discussions and found that the printer requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection using WPA2 encryption. I contacted my internet provider, Spectrum, and confirmed I have 2.4 GHz.

The printer was working perfectly fine just two days ago. I’ve also performed a factory reset on the printer, but no luck.

Can anyone please help me troubleshoot? Would be more than happy to provide any information needed. Thank you!

Greetings,

When you go into the wireless configuration on the printer's LCD menu and attempt to view available networks within range of the printer, do you see your network or any others?

Consider connecting it to your pc with a USB/printer cable, it will help troubleshoot many problems including WIFI connections. You can also consider using a LAN/Ethernet cable which allows you to connect your printer directly to your router and then any device on your network wifi or wired can print to it. It is a very stable connection, far better than wifi.

yes I see other wifi networks

Do you see your own network (broadcast)?

You can also use an ethernet connection as my colleague suggested if the printer is in proximity to your router.

The printer requires a dedicated 2.4Ghz broadcast that uses WPA2 encryption.
