I have a windows 8 laptop that wont detect my canon mx472 printer.

I have a windows 8 laptop and a window 7 laptop and both can not detect my new canon mx472. I have tried everything in the manual and online. PLEASE any help would be appreciated.

Go to your desktop file explorer.  Click on the network tab on the left.  Be sure that sharing is turned on.  Usually it is off.

How is the printer hooked -up? WiFi or USB cable to a computer?
