How Do I get my printer to print exact sizes and have a margin with just a desktop computer?

I haven't really fiddled with different apps, but I have looked at the Canon Printer app, and it only looks like I can crop my photo to be 7x7 (and I have no idea how to make a 1/2 margin on all sides) because this is for a quilt that I'm making for my Grandfather with printer fabric. Anyway, I'm wondering if I could get some help! Thanks! -Addy
