I have a MG6220 which I can't print Google print cloud. Printer says something like service is down and I have to try again later. What is wrong with the cloud?

Hello svela2
This error is related to the Google Cloud service. First, please make sure that you can still access the internet. If the error remains, please try using this service at a later time.

I have the same problem with an MX892. "Waiting until later" doesn't help.

Hey svela2 and gstory20,
Google runs the Google Cloud Print service so we do not have control over this. I have confirmed that it is indeed down at this point. I would suggest trying the service again later and it should be back up and working.

I have a PIXMA MG6220 with which I'm trying to use Google Print. My PC operating system is Wintows 8 (64). I'm trying to upgrade my printers firmware as instructed by Canon so my printer can use Google Print. However, when I go to Canon's driver download page and identify my OS as Windows 8, It shows no firmware updates nor does it have the firmware update utility. Is this because of windows 8 and if so, can I use windows 7 firmware update utility?

Hi adavisclan,
The firmware update for Windows 7 should also work in Windows 8. I believe the website just hasn't been updated to reflect this.

Was there ever an answer to this problem. I am running into the same issue trying to register my Pixma MG6220 with Google Print.
I updated the firmware on the printer to 3.02 (I think but it is the latest version and over 3.0). I followed the directions below from the Cannon Site.
1. Make sure that the machine is turned on.
2. From the HOME window, select Setup, or press the Menu button (MX892 only) and select Web service.
3. Use the OK button to select Web service setup.
4. Use the and buttons and the OK button to select Other settings or Cloud settings.
5. Use the and buttons and the OK button to select Google Cloud Print setup.
6. Use the and buttons and the OK button to select Register with Google Cloud Print.
•If you have already registered the machine with Google Cloud Print, the confirmation message to re-register the machine is displayed.
•When a confirmation message asking whether you want to register the machine appears, use the and buttons and the OK button to select Yes. If a language selection message appears, select the desired language.
I got to this point with no problems.
•If a message related to print data handling is displayed, select the OK button. The confirmation message to print the authentication URL is displayed.
No message was displayed but I don't think that is a problem.
•Load A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the cassette. - Loaded paper
•Select the OK button. The authentication URL is printed. This printout is used later in the registration process. - This is where I get the message that the printer can't connect to the server. I do have Internet access and can print to the wirelessly, just not using Google Print.
Any solutons/help?? -thank you
