After getting a new wifi router (which automatically changed the password for the wifi), the printer stopped being connected to the laptop and was not printing (my computer was not detecting it). i read online i had to unisntall drivers and everything and set it up again, and now my computer cannot detect it wirlessly over wifi.
Please help.

Just an FYI. You are able to change the SSID name and password of the wireless broadcast on your new router. You don't have to stick with the default.
Canon USA will not help you with a printer purchased in another country and will refer you to the support site in the region where purchased.
Use the IJ Networking Tool to set the new wireless parameter for your printer.
