Troubleshooting Canon PIXMA E470 Connection Issues

If your Canon PIXMA E470 printer is unable to connect to your smartphone, follow these steps to resolve the issue.

Check Wi-Fi Connection

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the same 2.4ghz network as your phone. The printer cannot connect to a 5ghz WiFI network.
  • Verify the printer's Wi-Fi settings:
    • Print out the network settings to confirm the connection status.
    • Make sure "Active" is displayed under "Connection."

Verify Device Settings

  • Confirm that the Canon PRINT app is installed on your smartphone.
  • Check that Wi-Fi is enabled on your smartphone.
  • Ensure that the network settings (SSID and password) on your smartphone match those of the Wi-Fi network.

Printer and Router Placement

  • Position the printer and router close to each other to avoid communication issues.
  • Remove any obstacles that may interfere with the wireless signal, such as walls or electronic devices.

Restart Devices

  • Turn off your printer and smartphone, then turn them back on.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router to refresh the connection.

Additional Steps

  • If the printer is still not connecting, consider resetting the network settings on the printer and reconfiguring the Wi-Fi connection.
  • Ensure that any security software on your smartphone is not blocking the connection.
