I have been struggling with this issue for several hours and def getting frustrated. I am running Windows 10 on a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and connected to the internet via T-Mobile home internet service. Could there possibly be any compatibility issues? I have tried all standard suggestions and I have come to suspect the problem is directly related to entering the network passcode. My network passcode is 27 characters and it looks to me like there is a maximum limit of only 9 characters for the set up of the printer? The current existing network password being 27 characters is ridiculous but it came that way and I fear changing it will be very problematic. Thank you one and all for any help. Cheers!

Greetings,
A 27 character passcode is great, but not exactly practical. I'm all for security, but I think you'd be OK using something 8~16 characters, alpha-numeric, with upper / lower case and at least 1 special character. You can choose your own SSID (broadcast) network name(s) as well. To do this, you'll need to log into your T-Mo Gateway.
It probably has log in info on a sticker. Check the side or bottom of the device. You can also visit the T-Mo support site and enter the model number. They will probably have its manual available for download and helpful tips for configuration.
The printer supports 2.4Ghz wireless only. It cannot connect to a 5Ghz broadcast, so please confirm your router is broadcasting at least one 2.4Ghz broadcast, with WPA2 security. To facilitate easy identification, Give it a unique name. I have a tri-band router (example)

Hi Rick! Thank you so much for the information which is incredibly valuable! After hearing what you had to say I confirmed that my router is indeed a 5G router so I'm going to have to check with T-Mobile and see if they have a tri-band router. I have a second problem that is internal which is called a roommate LOL who is already yelling saying don't change anything on the router! But that's a completely different community that I would have to find and log into for help LMAO! Anyway thanks again very much I really appreciate your help and take care. Cheers!

Hi Chris,
I've heard some newer T-Mo models are only 5Ghz. Not sure why they would do something like this. 2.4Ghz isn't dead yet. Others have both bands. The newest ones are 6Ghz/5Ghz/2.4Ghz. I think TP-Link just released Wifi7. Not even sure the standard has been ratified yet. I only have one WiFi6 device. A laptop. Everything else in Wi-Fi5 standard. Check your model closely, it might be dual band and using the same name for both broadcasts. You only need a router that is minimum dual band 2.4/5G. for the printer to connect.

Thank you again! As it turns out, rather than dealing with the hassle and headache of listening to my roommate gripe and complain about "messing with the router" I opted to give my canon to a friend who badly needed one and he was able to auto-connect it with no problems at all. Nevertheless I did pass along the great info that you gave me should he need to refer to it in the future. Thank you again, and take care.
