MX922 "No Document Error"

My Canon MX922 printer is one month old.  I've only printed about five pages on it so far.  I've recently been receiving a message when I start my printer that says "There is no document that can be forwarded".  The printer automatically switches to the Fax option and all other buttons will not work, even the menu button won't respond.  I have rebooted the printer multiple times by both unplugging the power cable and by pressing the power button.  The "document" message remains and the printer still won't respond.  Any ideas on how to fix this?
