sx740 camera with English and Japanese only

I bought an sx740 camera when the product description states that the camera supports a variety of languages, but unfortunately the camera only came with English and Japanese only, updating the firmware didn't help either, does anyone have a solution to the problem please?

Cameras with Japanese menu or Japanese/English menu are ment for the Japanese market.

The firmware updates are these days just the same world wide.

To enable international menu you will need a service software. I don't know any third party for your camera model and I think it is unlikely that Canon will enable it if the camera was sold in the wrong country.
