how can I transfer photos directly from my SD 1400 IS to my new iPad 4s

I recently purchased the new ipad 4s and now my card reader device from my 1st gen ipad doesn't work, what kind of device do I need?

I am very sorry, but the PowerShot SD1400 IS only supports direct connections to the Windows and Mac operating systems using the software we provided with the camera.  While it may be possible to use third-pary made accessories to connect the camera to the iPad, we cannot guarantee you will be able to download the images from the camera that way.
