canon PowerShot a550 lines on pictures

My pictures have lines when I shoot it normally (no zoom) but then when I zoom it in the lines disappear (the lines are more visible when not zoomed). I tried it in video mode but there are no lines, how can I fix this? (canon PowerShot a550)
