I like to do a lot of macro photography, and I like to have my camera with me 24/7. The S100 has been great for both (but I keep destroying them, invariably involving immersion in various liquids). I'm looking for a compact camera that will give me the best macro shots without going up to a DSLR.
I tend to crop aggressively, so I'd prefer a lot of MPixels.
I had been eyeing a used Powershot G10. I like the fact that it has a dedicated control for +/- exposure bracketing.
But a little research revealed that it's actually older technology than my S100.
What is your advice for an upgrade to a portable compact with strong Macro features?
I should mention I can't really justify $600+, but I'd like your input anyway.

If you are willing to go to the size of the G10 you could always just get a WP-DC43 underwater case for the S100.

I have an underwater case for my S100.
That doesn't get me an upgrade.
