I have recently bought a SX740 HS and am finding that it powers up when I have not hit the "on/off" button. I might take it out of its case or out of my pocket to find that its on already. At first, I thought maybe I had forgotten to turn it off, but actually it comes on if the "play" or "wifi" buttons are hit. I have a soft case and even through this, the buttons can be hit and the camera turned on. It's a drain on the battery, so I'd like to stop this happening. Is there any way to change the settings so that it only comes on when I hit the "on/off" button on the top of the camera, and not any on the buttons on the back? Any help appreciated!

Hello RosFL,
These buttons are used to power the camera for other purposes, like reviewing images without having to extend the lens or establishing a WIFI connection without having to extend the lens. There is no way to disable that unfortunately.
