SX60HS e-TTL flash and built in together?

When I mount a Yongnuo YN685 flash in e-TTL mode, the built in flash does not fire.

Is there a work-around?

What arrangement do you have to connect the the Yongnuo?   Obviously if that unit is on the camera's hotshoe it will take precendence over the built-in one, and anyway why would you want to fire both in that configuration if it was possible?  So, that leaves me with the option that the Yongnuo is in a remote location, firing by a remote connection - but what?

cheers, TREVOR

The mark of good photographer is less what they hold in their hand, it's more what they hold in their head;
"All the variety, all the charm, all the beauty of life is made up of light and shadow", Leo Tolstoy;
"Skill in photography is acquired by practice and not by purchase" Percy W. Harris

The Yongnuo YN685C is on  bracket connected via a  3' E-TTL cable. The built-in flash can open completely.

I want to experiment with the 685 for bounce and the built-in for full frontal -- something I saw in a speedlite photography book.

I can probably get the same result with a diffuser on the 685.
