Hello. I originally got a SX60 HS back in January 2015 in the UK and it was able to take Superfine photos in Auto mode. But after dropping that one in the water at the end of 2016 I decided to get a replacement SX60 HS while in the USA, but this one wasn't able to take Superfine photos in automatic mode, like my old one.
Is there anything I can do to get my new SX60 HS to take Superfine photos in automatic mode?
Cheers.

My reading of the manual says you can't

Give a try to reset the camera to the default mode.
At menu - AF point zoom is " on " and servo is " off " .
MF peaking is " on " and safety MF is " on " try manual focusing.

What does this have to do with superfine compression in Auto Mode?

Hi Rhino,
Thanks for posting.
The Super Fine compression setting is not available in the Auto mode.
I recommend using the camera's "P" (Program AE) mode. This mode is still fully automatic, but allows you to make changes that aren't available in Auto, such as the Super Fine compression, white balance and ISO settings, to name a few.
