SX280 Video Panning

When panning videos wiwth my SX280 I always try to be as smooth as possible.  However, the resultant videos are slightly jerky.  The camera is set to 640 x 480.  Is there a way to get smoother videos?

Read the manual.  I no longer have a 280 but I recall you may have to disable image stabilization or change some kind of mode if you are panning video.  The camera thinks your panning is shaking camera.
