download pictures

mY 10 YEAR OLD POWER SHOT SX150IS WILL NOT NOT DOWNLOAD PICTURE FOR FIRST TIME.

Sorry, I thought only the 'A' cameras used AA batteries.

Well ,I set aside the cmera with a long life behind it and bought a new powershot sx150is but, just finished connecting up cable,turned on camera, and- As soon as tried to dowload picture that are in camera it "Turns"itself off !

ITo me it looks like computer must be the one to reject this operation.

So,As usual am back to needing advise on cure.

Have you tried reinstalling the Canon Utilities Software CD that originally came with the camera? If you don't still have the CD you may still be able to download the software from the Canon site.

One advice from forum , as to finding solution to camera turning offwhen start of a dowloading, was to go to http---- which I have been trying since last message but found every thing { not} related  to my problem.

Talk about going around the block to cross the street  in trying getting advise, outside of tyour forum, is a waste of time.

So, anymore ideas to try on my problem you can send to me.

 I am still trying to find a solution to wnen camera via cable to why computer shuts off by itsef when turned on.

The advise in going to Canon for answer did not help.

No direct answer to my questions from them

Are you trying to write your own software to perform the download from the camera?

recommented to upgrade operating system.

How is that done ?
