My Canon Powershot SX230 makes a continuous clicking noise, assuming its the continuous focus, but not sure. You can also hear it when you are using the video in a quieter setting. Is this normal or a defect?

Mike -
I did send my camera in. They stated the optical assembly did not operate properly so they replaced it with a refurbished optical unit. Would this have affected the quality of my photos (as I am not an expert photo taker it is hard for me to tell)?
What I can tell is that in the interim, I purchased the SX260 and definitely notice sharper quality photos from the SX260. Your thoughts??

Hi Nikki,
A malfunctioning lens assembly would, at some point, affect the image quality.
I'm glad they were able to resolve this for you,
Richard

Richard -
Unfortunately, I don't feel that the issue has been "resolved". The clicking noise is the same as it was and I am experimenting with the photo quality, but from what I can see thus far without printing the photos, the quality is the same as before and not as good as the SX260.
