My battery is fully charged, but when I press the shoot button it simply does not take a photo. Usually when I touch the screen it would automatically capture a photo as well and it does not do that. When I initially open the camera it does say “Change Zoom Mangif” I played with the zoom, but no changes. Any help is appreciated I am supposed to be shooting with this in 2 weeks!

Hello Jzczan,
Typically, if the camera is not able to focus (when using autofocus), it will not release the shutter to take a picture. These cameras do operate with a 2-step shutter process where you press the shutter button half-way to focus and once focus is achieved, you continue to press the shutter button in completely to take the shot.
Let's start by resetting the camera to factory default settings. In order to access all menu items, make sure that you set the camera to one of the Creative modes such as, P, Av, Tv, or M. I would suggest setting the camera to the P mode. You will find [Reset All] in the wrench menu #4. Let's also test the camera with a different memory card or format the card that we have currently in the camera. The [Format] feature is in the yellow wrench menu #1.
When the card is formatted, all images and data on the card will be erased. Even protected images will be erased, so make sure there is nothing you need to keep. If necessary, transfer the images and data to a computer, etc., before formatting the card.
