Powershot G7x Mark II Camera Flash Locked

I’ve read a post on here about camera flash being locked, I attempted to try but then I couldn’t find the shutter mode in my settings to change to mechanical. My flash is locked, even on the arrow dial the flash option doesn’t pop up. But I clicked on other things on the arrow dial and clicked on the right arrow to see if it works, it still does. So what could be causing my flash to not work.

I had the same issue. Turns out that there is an advisory notice out detailing that there is a flash issue with some of these cameras. You can look up the advisory and see if your camera qualifies for free repair.
