Hi all, i recently purchased a new Powershot G5 X and have been loving it. However i notice this odd thing when i go to replace the battery pack. Each time I go to put a new battery in, the calendar and time gets wiped and I have to put all those settings in fresh. Is this normal for this model?

Ah, i had a feeling that was the case, downside of buying a camera this old. I guess there's no easy way of replacing that right?

I have no idea. Sometimes coin batteries are changeable via a little door in the battery or Card compartments, but this appears to be rechargeable.
If you haven't already, try to leave the battery in for a few weeks.

Yes i have been using the camera for about a month now, leave the battery in there. But i'm sure it's dead. Not too big of a deal though, as long as it retains the menu settings which it looks like ti does, probably saved on the card. Thanks for your help!
