PowerShot V1 not listed in Canon Connect app

Hi all,

I recently purchased a Powershot V1 and the manual suggests that I connect it to my phone with the Canon Connect app (I use an android phone). I installed the app, but the V1 is not included in the list of compatible cameras.

I'm not sure why Canon would make the recommendation if it's not compatible? Has anyone else experienced this? Is there another version of the app available or am I doing something wrong?

Any help or suggestions will be gratefully received. Thank you. I'm in the UK.
