“ Can I stop the recording after 30 minutes, then start again and again? “
Yes, you can restart it. All Canon consumer cameras had a 30 minute limit during the time period when that model was first released, so as that wouldn’t be taxed as a camcorder.
The entry and beginner level DSLRs all stopped automatically. The more advanced DSLRs could automatically restart recording another 30 minute file. The user could then combine the files into one longer video on a computer.! I am fairly certain that point and shoot cameras like yours did not automatically restart.
Be aware that there are other constraints that can negatively impact max recording time. File Size. Canon has a couple of different file systems available n their cameras. I believe your camera has a 2GB max file size. There should be tables in User Giide that explain this in more detail. Memory card capacity and performance can also impact recording times.

The 30 minute time limit should not be an issue. I just read the specs. The stops recording, but automatically restarts using a new file.
The video specs report max 4K 75 minutes of recording time using a SDHC U3 32GB memory card. You might try downgrading the card from SDXC.

” Can I use a USB power supply such as a power bank, plug into a charging block - using appropriate cables? “
I don’t know if Canon ever sold a “battery eliminator” package with an AC adapter for the camera. The Usrr Guide should tell you what Canon accessories are available.
The User Guide should also tell you whether you can power the camera through the USB port.
Exercise caution ⚠️ trying to power the camera using the USB port. Be sure to follow the guidelines on the manual. If it doesn’t specifically say how to do something, then conclude that you cannot and should not try it.

“ Estimated time is 60 minutes.”
Let’s pause right there. I believe that camera model has a 30 minute recording time limit. The actual limit would be 29:59.

We would have to do what you can do is read the manual. I suggest you just start practicing. Some questions we can’t answer because it depends on your situation.

Can I stop the recording after 30 minutes, then start again and again?

Yes. You can make as many 29 minute recordings as you like. If you use a high quality video setting there is also a 4 GB file size limit, I believe.

The tripod mount prevents me from opening the access door to change batteries/memory card.
