I'm using a Canon PowerShot sx50 hs for years and suddenly when I view phots the camera keeps turning off. I can take pictures normally but upon seeing the photos that I've taken the lens retract and the camera turns off. What should I do to fix this?

Hello Cabbage125,
I would start by resetting the camera to factory default settings to start with. You can find that in the Tools (wrench/hammer) menu. Try cleaning the battery contacts with a clean, soft microfiber cloth. Dirty contacts could cause an issue like this. Do not use any kind of solution when trying this. You can also clean the contacts on the memory card as well with the microfiber cloth. Does the camera do the same thing with other memory cards? Let's try using a different card.

Greetings,
In addition to what John_Q suggests, can you tell us how old the battery is? Do you have another battery to test the camera with?
