I am trying to reuse my disc card from my PowerShot A540 by downloading to my computer?

Greetings,
Can you please describe what a "disc card" is with more detail? This is not a term or expression I am familiar with.
This product has been retired. All downloads for your camera are available here:

Please note that in some cases, an installer written for an earlier version of the OS you are running Windows / MAC might work on a later version of the OS where drivers do not exists. This is true in some but not all cases.
Thanks,

Hi Robert and welcome to the forum:
As I understand it, you wish to download the files on the card from your Power Shot A540. The storage device you refer to as a 'disc card' could be an SD or MMC card (secure digital) card or Multi Media Card, but is more likely the former. Both will work on other cameras and should be able to be read in computer SD card readers (built-in or USB) if you wish to download the data on them. For more modern cameras, it is advisable to get SD cards that have both more capacity and faster read/write performance.
