PowerShot A430 -Memory Card Error

Hello! I'm here to ask how to fix memory card error in canon powershot a430. I've been trying various things like reformatting it but none has worked. I bought this camera from a reseller and asked for help but as you see they were no much of a help so I'm here instead. What sd card I have is a SanDisk 2.0gb card. So far my camera keeps on saying memory card error and card locked. Please help me!!

What kind of "reseller"? Did they claim it was a working camera?

It's a 19-year-old camera. Hope you got it real cheap.

Is the card locked (by sliding the lock switch)? Is the card readable on a computer? Do you have another card to try?

You need to determine if you have a card problem or a camera problem. Look down into the card slot and see if there are any damaged contacts.
